This may be a spoof in the UK, but there is an element of truth in it for the US. US heathcare protesters would rather have a low level clerk in an insurance company deciding life and death issues than their doctors. After all, look at all the crap about "death panels".

ReplyDeleteI know, it's iniquitous isn't it? Apologies for the satirical article, but we Brits are prone to handle outrageous circumstances and gross imbalance with humour. But you're right: for the people of the US, getting proper access to healthcare-at-the-point-of-need is a lottery and certainly no laughing matter.
I guess your Republican politicians have to come clean and state who and what they value most: the "contributions" they accept from Big Medicine lobbyists to do their bidding, or the lives of their fellow citizens...? They can't serve two masters.
