Thanks to Media Matters for putting this montage together - it clearly illustrates the sea of bovine crassness which tries to pass for 'news' in the US. What follows is what you believe when you've ceased to think. What it doesn't explain is the damage to its reputation abroad which America is doing by embracing this nonsense.

America's running out of 'Reality TV' - so Fox fills the gap...

OMG! I didn't realise how bad Fox actually was....... are they really allowed to broadcast that rubbish?!! I have to quote you back; I think thier gene pool was polluted with chlorine!! LOL
ReplyDeleteYour Headline Says It All--
ReplyDeleteFOX is its own Reality TV--
LOL on the clip; I agree with Anne Dickens:
yes, unfortunately here in the states they really ARE
allowed to broadcast that rubbish, 24/7
I can't stand Fox News, and as an American, it makes me sad.....what's even sadder is that people actually do believe the rubbish. The media in general has disenchanted me.....I wish more Americans would listen to NPR and The News Hour with Jim Leher. It seems like everything has a slant nowadays, but those two outlets at least lean towards the objective. I also enjoy BBC News. This is all just my opinion, I don't normally voice my opinion on these types of matters.
ReplyDeleteAnd don't even get me started on reality television!!!!!! It all started about 10 years ago and I am STILL waiting for it to go away......
ReplyDeleteInteresting you should mention all the above Alanna - I spent a good deal of time in the US, on business and pleasure, and whilst there I used to watch the MacNeil/Leher News Hour - it was the classiest analysis I could find, and the closest thing to actual 'news' I ever saw in the US. The rest is all just poorly disguised 'opinion' (which the Fox News Borg choose to mistake for news).
ReplyDeleteGood to see you back! :)
Yep, tragic isn't it?! =-X >:o =-O
